Happy New Year!
What a year 2020 has been and depending on where you are in the world, 2021 is off to an interesting start! One thing many of us have in common is that we are still experiencing the mental, emotional, physical, financial, etc. impact of COVID-19. Because of this, I hope you all are intentional in maintaining your wellness, while also finding ways to engage in collective healing.
I know the focus for the beginning of the year is oftentimes goals and resetting. I, however, felt it was important for me to share something I think we could all make a little more room for: PLAY!
For various reasons, the older we get the more some of us feel there isn't much room for play or being playful. I believe one of the many things that helps us healthily move through life is making space to play. I met with Shamara Howze, a child therapist and dear friend, to have a conversation about the power of play in human development, healing and relational health. Shamara even believes play doesn't have to look much different in adulthood than it does in childhood.
